Associate Designer / Landscape Architect

Job Description

The LaurelRock Company is seeking a high-performing, self-motivated landscape designer and/or registered landscape architect for a full-time position at our office in Wilton, CT. We are an award winning, full-service landscape design/build/maintenance firm, servicing exceptional residential properties in Connecticut and New York for 45 years.

Candidates must have an accredited degree in landscape architecture or another related field of study and one to ten (5-10) years of experience working on high-end residential projects. We are looking for a team member who aligns with our Core Principles and is eager to make a positive difference in our company and community. Candidates will be immersed in a collaborative and supportive studio culture with a focus on design and creative excellence. Candidates will be responsible for assisting in field measuring & inventory, advancing conceptual designs, producing detailed construction drawings, creating preliminary construction cost estimates, and in-construction site visits. Essentially, candidates will be exposed to all aspects of the design and project execution process. Candidates will be expected to balance multiple assignments while meeting established deadlines. Candidates will be expected to operate independently at times and actively participate in the collaborative design process with our senior landscape architect. Salary commensurate with experience and ability to produce and grow within the position.

Job Requirements

Experience and Qualifications:

  • Completion of an accredited program in landscape architecture or another related field of study
  • One to ten (5-10) years of professional experience as a landscape architect / designer
  • Well-rounded interpersonal and communication skills
  • Focused on embracing teamwork and working towards shared deadlines and goals
  • Strong design skills and an innate desire to produce meaningful work
  • Comprehensive thinker, detail-oriented and well organized
  • Exceptional time management skills
  • Flexibility and availability to work remotely and from the office in a fluid and efficient manner
  • Legal status to work in the US, including a valid working permit and/or visa

Software Proficiency:

  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite
  • proficiency in AutoCAD, Sketch-Up, and Lumion or equal
  • proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, specifically Photoshop, Illustrator and In-Design
